silvanus is a diligent, intelligent, and hardworking person, being dependable and trustworthy to those he cares for. he isn't easily angered; in fact, it's really hard to piss him off. however, when angered, he can be a little scary...no, correction, he is a freaking demon. he isn't especially trusting of others and can often be perceived as a little standoffish, but, once you get close enough, he's shown to be fairly compassionate and loving to the people he lets in. he is fiercely loyal to his friends; in fact, if someone hurts them, he will forget himself and immediately come rushing to them. he's no stranger to the concepts of death and violence, and appears to be a little numb to it all, without much care for whether or not things get rough--so long as it doesn't mess up his living area too badly. silvanus is certainly not the type to run from a fight, which makes him a rather infuriatingly stubborn individual at times--however, it doesn't sit well with him if he's in an untidy space, and he is often meticulous with the concept of organization. to silvanus , his home is truly where his heart lies , and his nitpickiness and inability to cope in a chaotic environment shows through this. silvanus does not like change , instead preferring a certain steadiness and consistency in his own personal reality--for this steadiness to be broken is a problem with him , and he doesn't know how to handle turbulence. in order for sil to be happy , he needs to have some control over his situation at all times -- otherwise he doesn't feel stable . this is often expressed through his meticulous habits of cleaning , adjusting photos if they're even slightly crooked , and regulating every aspect of his life , including himself . for silvanus to express his emotions freely would be a mistake -- he works hard to conceal what he's thinking , and , being very much of a perfectionist , has managed to make it near-impossible for others to tell what he's thinking .
regardless of this, silvanus is a mature person with good thinking skills, a skilled strategist with the wisdom of an old man. he is very clever and insightful of his environment, if not very, very thoughtful and aware of others' opinions, usually keeping them in mind when he is planning things. silvanus is known for being a resourceful individual, who focuses on his environment--some people would say he's almost like a silent guardian type, watching over the people he cares for and making sure their needs are met, but refusing to take the credit for it. he can be incredibly paternal and protective over his friends , albeit sometimes overbearing -- but is also hypocritical in the sense that he works independently , rarely asking for help from others . he has a big heart , often caring for everyone he knows , nurturing them , serving as an adviser of sorts . silvanus loves very strongly and is a heavily loyal friend , whose devotion to his friendships cannot be swayed . silvanus likes to busy himself up with menial tasks , and is known for being a reliable hard worker as a result . he possesses very little trust towards the government and authority figures, with a common belief that at some point he will likely be sold out by them due to past experiences. he holds a cynical outlook on the world, often believing that at the end of the day, everyone here is just a puppet for whoever's on top, and eventually, they will be at the end of someone's sword. still, silvanus is irrefutably stubborn and doesn't know when to give up on people, and if the world falls apart, he at least wants to be there long enough to see the day that it ends. a level-headed survivor of a man who grew up too fast and often has a "the-world-is-on-my-shoulders" attitude, silvanus is just a person--a scared, messed-up man--who's been smart enough to live this long and played his cards right up to this point.
likes :
strawberries/strawberry-flavored food - his true weakness. silvanus positively can't resist the urge to eat anything containing strawberries for some reason, and it's a sort of comfort food for him in a way.
literature - once a bookworm, always a bookworm. if he's not doing anything, you can probably find him leaning against a wall, reading whatever book he grabbed this time.
stories - say what you will about stories being made up on the spot, stupid ones about heroes and princesses, this was one of the few things that kept silvanus sane throughout the time loop. had he not mumbled stories to himself, he probably would have lost his marbles a long time ago. they brought him hope.
the feeling of stability - a very strong feeling that he fights for .
forests - in his personal opinion , the ideal place to curl up and relax .
dislikes :
excessiveness - there's something that irks silvanus about having too much of something--too much jewelry, too many clothes, too many weapons--and especially when it's shown off in an excessive, annoying manner. he tends to stray away from these types of people.
disorganized spaces - silvanus considers himself incredibly patient. if there's one thing he absolutely won't stand for, though, it's a messy living area. he doesn't care if he's living in a tent, or a tiny bedroom, or a prison cell. if it isn't clean, he won't stand for it.
locked doors - being in a small, enclosed, messy space is already stressful enough, but silvanus absolutely cannot handle being locked in, or out, of a room. he tends to get around this by picking the lock, but it's still a pet peeve of his.
government figures - silvanus never trusted the government while he was alive and he still sees no reason to . even now , he's very hesitant .

a world that was ravished by a meteor strike in the year 1972 , silvanus comes from an apocalyptic version of earth . as a result of the meteor strike , however , many humans faced some odd side effects . this phenomenon became known as a “tear in the aura” , as , to their surprise , they were able to see their auras , a shield used to protect the soul . this “tear” granted them with strange abilities , powers influenced by their auras , but left them susceptible to an invisible , mind-plaguing substance . the term “soul gunk” was later coined , and it was said that if an “open-aura” individual didn’t cleanse their auras regularly ( typically with a salt bath ) , they’d slip into insanity .
do they remember their home dimension ? :
more or less. silvanus remembers his adult life , particularly the time loop , but cannot recall his childhood .
reason they were sent to the world-in-between :
when he was twenty-four years old , silvanus found himself trapped in a difficult situation — a time loop , caused by a child with an incredibly unstable ability . the loop lasted for the entirety of july, and , no matter what he did , he died in the majority of timelines . after thousands upon thousands of timelines , silvanus managed to survive one — however , he was trapped in a state between life and death . silvanus was later deemed a “contradiction” in his own timeline and sent to the world-in-between .

to put it rather simply , silvanus has the power to control and manipulate wood and plants with wood , including trees , shrubs , and bushes. he is able to utilize the wood for attack and defense, shifting it into whichever shape he pleases. he also has a sort of seismic sense when his feet are touching the roots of a tree , which can come in handy. however , his ability makes him weak to fire , and he cannot control wood if there isn’t a source .
