After the Packers, for some reason, paid Aaron Jones instead of Corey Linsley, the Chargers take full advantage and lock up Linsley for the foreseeable future. I can’t say enough about how good this signing is. It’s been well documented how bad the Chargers offensive line is across the board, and that includes center. Dan Feeney started there last season and was horrendous, and Mike Pouncey retired earlier this offseason. Meanwhile, Corey Linsley was far and away the best center in football last year, and was especially great in pass protection, allowing just four pressures on 437 pass blocking snaps. While he hadn’t come close to that level of play in any of his previous six seasons, he’s still been one of the best centers in the league over that time, and there’s a good chance he’s an elite difference maker from here on out. Either way, Linsley is by far the best o-lineman the Chargers now have, and they got great value as well.
