I love this move. John Johnson doesn’t play a valuable position, but for what he does do, he does it at a very high level. Johnson was especially good last season for the Rams, most notably in coverage. That’s why I think he should’ve gotten more than he ended up getting, and $11.25M per year is great value in my opinion. This also fills a big need, the Browns suffered through horrendous safety play last year and both starting safeties are free agents. The Browns new safety duo for next season will now be Grant Delpit and John Johnson, which will be a major improvement. If the Browns can also get another pass rusher beside Myles Garrett, this defense has a lot of potential. This gets a perfect grade from me.
