1. The California gold rush happened in 1849.
2. The US Army encouraged the slaughter of millions of buffalo because the army wanted to kill Native Americans and everything that keeps them alive.
3. The United States government was not treating the Native Americans fairly because they took away their culture, religion, and their homes.
4. Three examples why the Native Americans did not like the new Reservations where because
- Reservations were set up on the most barren, least fertile land.
- They were crowded, unsanitary, and had little economic opportunity.
- Tribes were moved again when oil was struck or resources were found.
5. The Central Pacific used unstable nitroglycerin to blast through the difficult terrain of the Sierra Nevada mountains.
