Unix'in Oluşumu: 1960'lı yıllarda AT & T'nin Bell labaratuarlarında makine dili olarak geliştirilen ilk açık kaynak kodlu ve makine dili ile yazılan işletim sistemidir. 1973 yılında konuşma diline en yakın olan C dili ile yazılarak geliştirilir.
Linux'un Oluşumu: 1991 yılında bilgisayar bilimi öğrencisi Linus Torwalds tarafından Linux isminde ortaya çıkmıştır. Unix'in gelişmiş halidir.
