I woke up to what I thought was the loudest sound I had ever heard. I ran to go see what it was, everyone in my house had so done as well. We were all frightened and confused at the same time. We looked around the room in silence, all of us trying to figure out what was going on. Then I realized my mom wasn’t in the room with us. My brothers, sisters, and my dad, and I went and searched for her. We looked everywhere but she was nowhere to be found. Then I stepped outside onto my front porch, and I saw it. It was horrible. The most horrific thing I ever witnessed. My very own mother slammed into another vehicle right outside of our house. It was a nasty wreck. I'd never seen anything like it. I heard sirens wailing from down the road. At this point I was in disbelief, that was my mother, my mother. Almost squished in between those two cars. The rest of my family came out due to the screaming sirens. Then almost immediately tears from every single one of them. I on the other hand wasn’t crying or anything. Totally emotionless. I know that seems kinda weird considering my mom was in what seemed like the most horrible car wreck ever. But the thing is I couldn’t. I couldn’t cry, or be angry, or anything. I just couldn’t feel. I was totally numb, and in shock. I just stood there. My mom was rushed into the ambulance, my dad went with her. My brothers, sisters, and I stayed home. I didn’t get to see my parents for what felt like forever. Hours passed. Then finally we received a call from my dad. And what he told us was something that changed our lives forever.
