All matter separates into:
Pure Substances:
Contains only one type of particle and can exist in three states of matter (solid, liquid, and gas) like steel, water, and gold.
Mixtures:
Contains two or more pure substances like rocks, soup, and mud.

Pure substances separate into:
Elements:
Iron (FE), gold (AU), oxygen (O), aluminum (Al)
Compounds:
Water, salt, sugar.

Mixtures separate into:
Homogeneous Mixtures (Solutions):
Appear to be one substance and particles of different substances are intermingled like vinegar, or clear air.
Heterogeneous Mixtures (Mechanical Mixture):
Two or more parts can be seen and the different kings of particles stay together like soil, blood, or concrete.

In-Between Mixtures are:
Suspensions:
A solution where you can see visible particles like orange juice (with pulp), Italian dressing, and lake water. (If you put a light through, you will be able to see through it).
Colloids:
Looks like one phase with small particles suspended like mayonnaise, toothpaste, gel, hello, and fog. (If you put a light through the mixture, you can't see through it).

Physical Properties:
They can be seen and tested. Physical property can be how hard or bendy something is too.
Ex. We can measure water's freezing point and boiling point, as well as the density of it.
