This is my response to "Natural Rights in America Today?". In my opinion, the script "The Declaration of Independence" meets most of America's rights today. One of the rights it is working to meet is that everyone is equal. Not everyone is equal, especially today as many blacks are being unacceptably killed by police. This is why people are protesting ALL BLACK LIVES MATTER as a reference of today in 2020. I think it has done a great job meeting rights that weren't truly met in our past history or hundreds of years ago. Today, the government hasn't been too destructive compared to the past when people didn't have as many rights and white men were considered "superior". Today people have a right to speak and to be heard. In the past, people may have not been able to be heard because they were judged based off of race and gender. To answer the last question about equal rights, I think we are working towards people gaining equal rights but more work needs to be done in order to achieve equality for everyone in the United States of America. In summary, what I'm saying is that racism is a major issue today and blacks need to be treated better, especially by the police.
