The Packers are being a little slept on this season. We will definitely see a lot of regression from last year, but this is still a very good team. They have a more well rounded roster than people realize. I have them winning the NFC North with an 11-5 record, securing the 3rd seed in the NFC.
QUARTERBACK: One reason why I have the Packers so high is that I’m higher on Aaron Rodgers than most. I think he is a top 3-4 QB talent. His ability to make big plays while limiting turnovers at an exceptional rate is outstanding. Whenever the Packers need a big play, Rodgers delivers. He’s always been the biggest reason for the Packers success, and next year will be no different.
RUSHING: Aaron Jones was very effective in this outside zone run scheme last season, and now they added AJ Dillon as well. The Packers love running the ball, and they will do a good job of doing so.
RECEIVING: Davante Adams is an elite, top 5 WR, but after him, this receiving core is abysmal. The Packers are hoping at least one of Jace Sternberger, Allen Lazard and EQ St. Brown become quality targets.
O-LINE: The Packers have a good, top ten o-line led by David Bakhtiari, Elgton Jenkins and Corey Linsley.
RUN D: This scheme is not built to stop the run, but getting rid of Blake Martinez helps a lot.
PASS RUSH: The Packers have a scary pass rush. Za’Darius Smith and Preston Smith form one of the best edge duos in the league, and the Packers also have an elite interior pass rusher in Kenny Clark. If Rashan Gary breaks out, this will be the best pass rush in the league.
LINEBACKERS: What many don’t realize is how much losing Blake Martinez benefits this LB group. Christian Kirksey is a huge upgrade. However, he’s very injury prone, and this is still a bottom three group.
