“Tell me a story I haven’t heard before.”
“You’ve heard all my stories. There’s nothing new, kiddo.”
“There has to be something!”
“Go ask someone else! I’m not the only person who tells stories, you know.”

“Everyone else says to ask you for stories!”
“And I told you to get out. This is my area. Go mess with the chorus fruit.”
“I don't want to mess with the chorus fruit! It’s boring! Everything’s boring! Tell me a story!”
“Fine, then. You get what you asked for. Nothing more, nothing less.”
“What does that mean?”
“Do you want to hear the story or not?”

“I’m sure you’ve heard of the overworld- Don't interrupt me!- the overworld. It’s got plenty of colors, and plants, and animals, and mobs.”
“And humans!”
“I was getting to that. Don't interrupt or I’ll stop telling the story.”
“I won’t do it again! I promise!”
“Don't make promises you can’t keep. Anyways, back to humans.”

“And, amongst the plants and the mobs and the animals, there are humans. Humans are like us, they can change things. But humans take their changing too far.”
“The Void levels punishment upon all. When we teleport, it may send it’s minions after us. The endermites serve to remind us of our power, and that we must keep it in check.”
“The humans live on land that stretches as far as the eye can see. They do not know the void, and they do not recognize their hubris. They see what we can do and seek to emulate it, and over time, it corrupts them.”
“Most learn from their mistakes, and hesitate before they take the final plunge. Some fall to their hubris, and leap without looking, until they are gone. Some never use a pearl at all.”
“But there is one that does not learn, or wait, or slow.”
“There is one that takes the path our origins did.”
“There is one that is more ender than man.”

“But that doesn’t make sense!”
“Why not?”
“Because!”
“If you have no reason, then you should listen to the story. I thought you were bored?”

“This one has learned where to aim, and how to breathe through the travel. This one is unlike it’s kin- it no longer scavenges from our remains to travel the Void. It no longer needs to.”
“As you know, we are limited. We cannot draw back a bowstring, or light a torch. But this one could. This one can.”
“I’m sure you’ve seen the ships, the city near the edge of our island. I’m sure you’ve seen the ruins our origins left. And I’m sure you’ve heard the stories.”
“Like the Great-”
“Like the Great Beyond. Yes. I told you not to interrupt.”
“I’m sorry! Please keep telling the story! Please please please with a crystal glow!”
“Alright, I’ll continue. But this is your last warning.”

“The Great Beyond is impenetrable. The walls are immovable. The doors are locked. Voices can sometimes be heard through the cracks, but they are quickly hushed.”
“They have nothing to fear from us. But they do not know that. And they will not open the doors.”
“Only endermen get this far out from the Dragon. Only humans can open the door.”
“Only one is both.”
“And perhaps our origins will be saved.”
“The oracles have foretold the whole journey, you know. In the patterns of the crystals. In the shapes in the Breath.”
“Now tell me- what do you think is inside the Great Beyond?”

“But the plan, the story, is flawed. The human is scared. It refuses to accept its nature.”
“What do you mean? It’s in a prophecy! Don't humans follow prophecies?”
“Yes, but humans don't listen to our prophecies. Most of them have probably never heard one. They regard our kind as evil, and bad. This one does too.”
“It sees us as a flaw. It will never make it this far out. It would never be able to. It will remain stagnant. It will refuse the change that is needed.”
“And our origins will never be let out.”
