- so that it is easy to digest the food and so that we can also make it easy for the food to pass through the oesophagus.
- to the increase the surface area of food- enzymes can act upon..
- since the food goes through the oesophagus it goes through a wavy motion in the oesophagus called peristalisis and it need to flow thrught smoothly thats why
- Easier to digest....Helps prevent entering other pipe (in oesophagus)....Helps prevent food stuck in its way, cuz of its size
- to break down the food with the help of saliva
MUSCLE :
- Muscle is a soft tissue found in most animals. Muscle cells contain protein filaments of actin and myosin that slide past one another, producing a contraction that changes both the length and the shape of the cell. Muscles function to produce force and motion. They are primarily responsible for maintaining and changing posture, locomotion, as well as movement of internal organs, such as the contraction of the heart and the movement of food through the digestive system peristalsis.
STOMACH :
- J-shaped
- thick- walled, bag like structure.
