The Chiefs have BY FAR the best offense in the NFL, making them a very tough team to beat. Their defense is far from amazing, but it’s good enough to help win them games, just like we saw last year. After a bit of a slow start, I have them ending their season on a 9 game winning streak, entering the playoffs with a much better team than their 13-3 record suggests.
QUARTERBACK: Patrick Mahomes is without a doubt the best quarterback in the NFL. There is nothing Mahomes can’t do, and he does almost everything at an elite level. He just signed a massive contract extension, and for good reason. He’s impossible to stop, and he makes the team around him so much better than it already is.
RUSHING: Clyde Edwards-Helaire may be a rookie, but it’s hard to believe he won’t get the job done next year. He’s in the perfect situation to succeed, and this will likely be an upgrade over last year.
RECEIVING: Not only do the Chiefs have the best quarterback, but they also have the best receiving core. Tyreek Hill might be the hardest cover in the league because of his speed, and the Chiefs also have an elite tight end in Travis Kelce. Add Sammy Watkins, Mecole Hardman, and Clyde Edwards-Helaire out of the backfield, and this receiving core is going to be a handful.
O-LINE: The Chiefs don’t have an amazing o-line, but it’s still good, led by the tackle duo of Eric Fisher and Mitchell Schwartz.
RUN D: I think this run defense will be good enough next season, led by Chris Jones, Frank Clark and Willie Gay.
PASS RUSH: The pass rush duo of Chris Jones and Frank Clark isn’t amazing, but it’s still pretty good.
LINEBACKERS: This was a weakness for this team last year, and it’s still not good, but adding Willie Gay to this group is huge. What he brings to the table is something the Chiefs didn’t have last year.
