It was 911, two planes flown into the towers of the world trade center in New York City. The first plane hit at 8;45 a.m. A third plane hit the Pentagon just outside Washington D.C. The fourth plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. Over 3,000 people were killed during the attacks in New York City and Washington D.C, including more than 400 firefighters and police officers. September 11, 2001 was the deadliest day in history for New York. The attackers were terrorist from Saudi, Arabia, and several other Arab nations. Some of the terrorists had live in the U.S for more than a year and had taken flying lessons at American commercial flight schools. Others had slipped into the country in the months before 911.

The 19 terrorist easily smuggled box cutters and knifes through security at three east coast airports. Soon after takeoff, the terrorist commandeered the four planes. They took the controls, transforming the four planes. And took ordinary jets into guided missiles. Five of the 9/11 hijackers stayed in a motel just outside the gates of the National Security Agency. Many Arabs still believe that Israel perpetrated 911. All the 19 militants terrorists had died in the 911 attacks.
