Some people say that parents should encourage their children to take part in organised group activities in their free time whereas other think that it is important for children to learn how to occupy themselves on their own.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.



Children are the future of our country and their upbringing is very significant. A segment of society believes that children should be encouraged to participate in group activities and the other believes that they should be free to choose the activities on their own.


To Begin with, organised group activities allow children to socialise with people in their immediate vicinity. Children learn to interact and be amicable to one another, they meet new people and learn new things. For instance, if a child is put in a basketball team, he could learn various aspects that would help him in the future, like, team building activities, learning to stick together with people during hardships and also to cope up with pressure in a light heartedly way. Furthermore, they learn a right positive attitude in a group. They also improves confidence,decision making ability and fitness level and of a lad.


On the other hand, children should be independent of choosing the activities in their ideal time. That would exhibit freedom of thought and they learn to develop new skills and responsibilities. However, there could be a downside possibility to this, as too much of a freedom could also combat their building skills and they might get involved in some unfavourable activities. For illustration, they could become anti-social and devout all their time to video games and internet. They might detach themselves from their immediate circle and hence freedom is important but adult supervision is gravely important.

To conclude, having considered both the aspects, i think organised group activities are more beneficial as the children are delicate and should be guided in the right direction by their parents or peers.
