Meaning, the major companies that have distribution in place, with the federated shopping places. They already have manufacturing, distribution in place. Design teams, head designers. So its normally a bidding war to find the top designers from all the top fashion institutions in NYC to head these clothing lines. So jay z, puffy, and Dre. Just sign a licensing deal at the bare minimum. So remember, dont look at retail price for profits. It's a percentage of cost to make, taking out fees. They not letting African Americans in the industry to be owners . They letting them in the industry to work for them or if you have a name, you sign a licensing deal and you get a percentage. No different then Beats by Dre, No different then Diddy signing a licensing deal with Ciroc. No different then a artist signed to a record label, shoe contract... it goes on and on. A owner is a actual person who has distribution, channels after production to get into stores. Because we dont have that power. Major companies look at us and sign us to use our image and likeness. No different then the George Forman grill, 50 cent Vitamin water, Dick Gregory diet, so on. So you suppose to act like you signed a 200 million dollar deal... the media likes to give false info, because that's what sells. So you say Jay z worth a Billion. 1. What are you talking about? Jay sold bought out Dame for $20M plus case, and then sold Rocawear years ago for $200M+, he agreed to be the spokesperson for Rocawear but doesn't own the company. He still got over $200M for what he owned. Owning a company is not the way to become a billionaire. That's an old way of thinking. Owning SHARES is what matters. Investing in smart businesses is the way you make real money. If you own a company outright it's "seems" like a boss move to people who don't know what they are talking about. But in reality it means that you have a smaller company. Look at Facebook. Zuckerberg made how many more billions of dollars when he sold shares? Yet he doesn't own the company outright anymore, he just owns stock.
You've got this mixed up man. Licensing is actually a very smart play. You're not doing anything but making money off of your name. Trump does it. Still Jay and Diddy actually are in the billionaire realm though. Look at what they invested in. I don't think you understand the market.
