Notes - notes.io

I wish to take part in VASTS because, for one thing, it tells a story. Throughout my generation, I continued to learn from everything. My father struggled when his dream of learning had many ups and down because of the lack of opportunities. Growing up in a rural village in Nepal, he struggled every day to live a life peacefully without hunger. Regardless, he continued walking toward school every day 5 miles, because he had a love of learning. Through the hardships my dad had, I reached in the land of opportunities, USA. My pops said to me: "There's a lot of beginning, but there isn't any end for learning." I think of these ideas when I write this essay. My parents have also inspired me to write this explanation; both have STEM careers.

I am captivated in promoting scientific, technological, and exploratory research through training, innovation, economic vitality, and management. I believe I would be successful by fostering innovation and new ideas throughout a collaborative team at Langley Research Center, expanding my knowledge through continuous learning opportunities, and professional projects will make me successful. I am motivated to tackle the most complicated issues, and by being part of the VASTS, I wish to get world-class knowledge by master's teachers.

After attending the Virginia Space Coast Scholars (VSCS)  Summer Academy and On-line course, I got increasingly inquisitive, inspired by scientists, engineers, and technologists from Wallops Fight facility. I learned many things from which I aimed at changing people's lives for the better at experiencing new challenges: highs and lows and at continuing to learn, not for myself, but as an understanding for other people. I believe that is an essential part of bringing the people together, regardless of whether they be cooperation, initiative, or leadership. Although one thing was constant through all these things, it was a love of learning. It was hard to find new ways to express my astronomical physics passion while learning Since I graduated 8, researching topics highly related to astrophysics. I hope to learn and grow while exploring astrophysics with which I most align myself, astronomy. When I heard that Dr Ed Murphy's lecture at the end of the Virginia Space Coast Scholars, it strengthens my feeling of Space Exploration that drives me to be in the Astronomical - Astrophysics field, propelling me to apply to the VASTS.

Throughout the entire portfolio–research, poster, activities, and awards, the one word would use to describe it all would be dedication. Consistently, I hope to strive in fields of STEM highly correlated with the Astrophysics and Computer Science, which includes research and programming. For instance, my internships at the PHP Programming at PYE Prep and with STEM Innovation Club demonstrate my love for Technology while showing initiative and responsibility. Additionally, these activities also show teamwork and communication skills in a professional environment. Furthermore, in this application, there is a display of being a leader in the community through volunteering as an Assistant Cybersecurity teacher.

When examining my achievements, a high aptitude for learning and an even greater sense of fiery compassion can be derived from the high honours awarded to me through the regional, Prince William-Manassas County science fair. To demonstrate stronger compassion for Astrophysics, I have become a veteran in the regional science fair—reaching high placements and awards since eighth grade; with this current year placing top 5 places in VEX Robotics State Competition. Similarly, my role as a lead programmer at VEX robotics shows a sense of commitment to both my team and my love for robotics. I also participated in the VSCS and the Summer Academy associated with the VSCS from which fostered my knowledge by collaborating as a team and completing the mission successfully. Finally, my enrollment into the Engineering program at Osbourn Park High School and my continuance of the course sequence, including taking the Engineering Explorations, PLTW course sequence and AP courses also display a love for technology and the will to continue learning.

In all, a commonality seen continuously throughout my portfolio encompasses two things: a strong interest in Astronomical science, and two, a tenacious spirit aimed at helping others. I believe that a strong interest in Programming and researching, or any subject matter, is only the basis of any Astronomy related pursuit. Compassion for helping others, whether with a group or not, without reservation, not only shows maturity and cooperation, but also, through the knowledge of science, conveys determination, hard work, and the capacity to continuously support others; to show the most important trait of all, heart.
