Today we started the project “Let Our Hearts Make the Beat!. We gathered with participants in a cosy place next to Pärnu, Estonia to learn about active citizenship through music production.
We played name games, got to know each other, and were introduced to the entire project. Shared with our expectations, fears and goals. Enjoyed activities that took place on the beach, and some of us already tried ourselves as the facilitators while that.

We all do have skills and knowledge to share between ourselves, that’s why we’ve gathered the list of our skills and knowledges from each other and now are looking forward to exchange them in next days. See you all tomorrow.

It was our second morning in the land of Erasmusa. ☀️ The sun level has increased, and the mosquitos level got decreased, therefore our mood also went up. We seized the day by singing two Erasmusa anthems and having a glimpse in each others souls by listening and mirroring movements. Erasmusa citizens like to keep their mind sharp, that is why they often gather together and discuss about meaningful topics. For example, active citizenship. Because you know, ZEN is important while floating in a SHIP. Especially in Erasmusa.🧘

We followed the day by playing a simulation game. Thankfully, everyone got dinner, even not everyone had scissors. We were reminded once again that our policeman is the coolest among the all the kingdoms. 1, 2, 3 - we love our police! ❤️

Erasmusa citizens have different experience but each of them is willing to share it. Afterwards follows sunsets, sand, sweet and special nectars, which wraps up the day perfectly. 👌

On the second day of focusing on the music Bertan introduced us how to use the music production software Ableton. Everybody had the chance to try Ableton out by themselves during the session. Final task after the session was to try and produce our own beat and music. All the outcomes were fantastic! From melodic beat to spider song :D. It was very cool to see that with only one and a half hour bunch of people can come up with so many and various beats. People in this project truly are very talented.
As the day went on, we had session about song writing and song structures. Frank and Ali showed us with multiple song samples how to distinguish intro, verse, chorus and bridge, outro. Already then discussion amongst participants started, that songs can have actually so many different structures. Quickly we discovered also prechorus and postchorus. With all the new knowledge boys started to make a song. Many people joined so the group ended up making an awesome song with only half an hour.
