Notes

This class is one of the more challenging classes that I'm taking this year, but it's not too bad.

The homework/assignments aren't too difficult, but sometimes it can take a while to finish. But it's nice that all assignments are due Saturday at midnight so I prioritize what needs to be done and I can work on whatever I need to whenever I have the time. We've only had two essays so far, but both weren't too bad. I think I liked the second one better (the lamentation essay) because it was more interesting for me, so I was able to write/analyze more. Because of online school, it can be confusing to find where the homework/assignments are in some classes, so I like how you organize our work for the week into Modules so it's easy to find. The thing I'm doing in this class to be successful is trying to procrastinate less and finish my work before the due date.

Overall, I think this semester has been pretty good. I like learning by the voice threads because if I miss something I can just rewind the video and listen again-- something I can't really do in class.



Challenges:
I think the hardest thing in this class for me is thinking of responses quickly during zoom calls. Sometimes you'll ask a question and I might have an answer, but someone else will say that response and then I don't have anything new to say if I get called on and that makes me really nervous. Or sometimes I just don't know the answer/have a response to a question and don't have anything to say when I get called on (sometimes it can take a few minutes for me to collect my thoughts and come up with a precise answer). I don't know if there's anything you can do about that though. The way I'm trying to fix this is by coming prepared to the zoom calls-- making notes on videos we watch/textbooks we read, having my thoughts organized and prepared beforehand, etc.
