In the colonies their are regions, that is what the test is about.
They farm their in massachuttes New Hamshire Road Island
Their is not that much good land. Farmers try to survive not to sell goods and live. This is called subsistence farming.
New england has very harsh winters, making it harder to grow. Soil is very hard and overall not a good place to grow things. But they manage to survive. Still is.
Lumber is huge in New England, also fishing. Every morning people fish. The people who are the rich and powerful trade. Around primaraly Boston Harbor where they trade lumber and things. Back country doesnt do much trading because they are isolated and cant do anything. Triangle trade refers to slave trade. Centers around boston harbor. Where goods go out and slaves go in. Enland puts laws into place in order to put more control on trade in the colonies. Colonies start in the 16 20s. By the 16 50s the colonies are doing so well that england gets concerned and makes sure they get some pie too. (money) All of their commerse needs to be done on england ships and they cant trade with other countries. Navigation acts put limits on things in 16 51 125 years later he revoulution happens. Theme we are going to come back to. There will be a revoulution, The revoulution does not happen quickly. It builds over a period of time.
Colonial period is not quick, Lasts for more than 150 years. British saw how succesful the colinies were so british got more money from commerse in the colonies. The navigation acts gets soe people frustrated. Wealthy will be frustrated. Cities end with Burg, in Pennsalvania. Grow alot of wheat in the middle colonies. The middle colonies are known as the bread basket. Important invention are covered wagons called carnostoga wagons invented by two brothers from germany. Not that many slaves in New England more in middle colonies.
