Türkiye Gençlik Birliği’nin 15 Eylül Salı günü yapılan Genel Yönetim Kurulu Toplantısı’nda, Furkan Kaplan, oy birliğiyle Türkiye Liseliler Birliği Genel Başkanlığına seçildi.
Önceki dönem TLB Genel Başkanı Hakkı Erman Ergincan, üniversiteden mezun olması üzerine görevini yeni dönemde başka bir mücadele arkadaşına devretti. 2 yıldır TLB Genel Sekreterliği görevini başarıyla yürüten Furkan Kaplan, yeni dönemde liseli mücadelesine önderlik edecek.
Furkan Kaplan’dan boşalan TLB Genel Sekreterliği görevine de oy birliğiyle, önceki dönem TLB Genel Başkan Yardımcılığı görevini yürüten Ali Murat Engin seçildi.
*Furkan Kaplan kimdir?*
16 Ağustos 1996'da Eskişehir'de doğdu. Annesi ev hanımı, babası araba tamircisidir. İlk ve orta öğrenimini Eskişehir'de tamamlayan Kaplan, lise öğrenimini yatılı olarak Çifteler Köy Enstitüsü'nün devamı olan Yunusemre Anadolu Öğretmen Lisesi'nde gördü.
Anadolu Üniversitesi Zihin Engelliler Öğretmenliği bölümünden mezun olan Kaplan, üniversite öğrenimi sırasında Engelliler Araştırma Enstitüsü bünyesinde yardımcı öğretmen olarak çalıştı. Meslek haklarını koruma mücadelesi veren Özel Eğitimciler Derneği'nin gençlik yapılanmasının kuruluşunda görev aldı.
2011'den bugüne sırasıyla; TGB Liseli Yunusemre Anadolu Öğretmen Lisesi Birim Örgüt Başkanlığı, TGB Liseli İl Sekreterliği, TLB İl Sekreterliği, TGB Anadolu Üniversitesi Birim Örgüt Başkanlığı, Anadolu Üniversitesi Atatürkçü Düşünce Kulübü Sekreterliği, TLB Eskişehir Sorumluluğu, TGB Eskişehir İl Başkanlığı ve TLB Genel Sekreterliği görevlerini yürüttü.
Eğitim tarihi, halk müziği, fotoğrafçılık ve bisiklet sporuyla ilgilenmektedir.
