Hey there, my names Riley and today Ill be sharing with you the time I was skiing and made a big mistake. This story takes place about four years ago at Lake Tahoe, where I was skiing down a mountain with my sister and my best friend Jake. The mountain was pretty steep but it didnt go down for long. (thank god it didnt). Kira, Jake, and I normally didnt go down that way but we just wanted to do it for fun. They went down the mountain going side to side which wouldve been the smart thing to do but for some bizarre reason I thought that I should scare them and try going straight down for a quick second I mean whats the WORST that could happen to me? (a lot a lot can happen) So I decided to turn my skis to the front of my body and not one second after I just went flying down that mountain. I tried to carefully move my skis to the side so that I could break my speed but I was already going down so fast that when I tried to turn, I flipped over and did the most nasty 360 vertical anyone has ever seen. Its a shame I didnt land it though. I tumbled my way down the short but steep mountain and when I hit the bottom I just lay on my back totally winded from that fail. The falling was more scary than the results. I actually didn't feel too bad besides missing a glove that Jake picked up for me on his way comfortably down the snowy mountain. Im pretty sure the reason I felt better than I thought after was because of the thick clothing you wear while skiing. Ski jackets and pants are very thick so that your body stays warm while skiing through the snowy weather. Anyways They helped me up and we all skied back to the lodge where I enjoyed some hot chocolate and the cozy warmth of the lodge.
