whiteout proper safeguards remote users can expose hcsc to significant privacy and security risk when accessing protected health info (phi) sensitive personal info(spi) business confidential info (bci) and other copany data outside secure company premises

risk and safeguards:
connection guidelines: must follow strict guideline to minimize risk posed by hackers. vpn must always be used when connect to hcsc system
opening suspicious emails: don't open previw emails even with attachments. so attachements should only be opned or previewd when the sender is trusted anb the msg is ecpected
damage to computer systems and data: may expose hcsc computer systmes and hardware to an increased risk of infection
protection info: phi spi or bci must be scurely stored when not in use
unauthorized access to hcsc info: may increase the risk that unauthorized individuals can access or steal our info. unauthorized individuals gain access may disclose the data to others.
orivacy regulatory issues: when remote access users download phi,spi,bci, they are taking data from secure server and storing it temporarily
additional care remote access users: to ensure privacy of phi, spi, bci, hcsc has established specific policies and procedure for remote access

shared laptop: you can clear laptop by running shared laptop cleanup utility after used

shared laptop cleanup procedure:
on the task bar, click start
on the start menu click programs
on the programs menu click pc cleanup utilities
on the pc cleanup utilities menu click shared laptop cleanup
on the profile cleanup message click ok

user ids and password- must use their own remote acces
using wireless connections- when accessing the hcsc network from your private wireless connection you must comply with is policy m12 remote access as well as is policy m09 wireless security
departmental responsibility- all requires to adhere

improper handling of remote access may expose hcsc to increase risk and viruses infection or hacker
its important to remember hotspots should only be used to transmit non sensitive data while using hcsc approved vpn solution
