Boys. It's always been boys. All my sisters' do is obsess about them, gossip whenever we go to draw in a ship of sailors to their doom. I'm not interested in them, I don't get that feeling my sister's get. Maybe I'm not right in the head, who knows. I do know, though, is that I can pretend. I know what words to say, and I know when to say them. If Aisling says one dying sailor is cute, I know to agree. When Delilah says the look-out boy is disgusting, I know to make a face.

It's easy to pretend to like boys.

My sisters don't understand, but I don't blame them. Neither do I. It's alright though, I don't mind. It just makes it easier to kill them.

I often sit on the rock by the coast, apart of a small island nobody notices is there until it's too late. I'm the only one that sits on the rocks, as everyone else hangs out in the waters. Our youngest, and most eager, sister, Elysia, often watches the horizons for passing ships. She's our look-out, calling out in her sweet voice for us to gather and sing. To draw young men to their death.

It's early in the morning when she first yells, the same line that I can practically recite by heart now,

"Delilah! Aisling! Ellis! There's a ship!"

On instinct, I dive in the water, soaking up the sounds of the ocean before resurfacing once more. I pull myself up on a high rock where Delilah, Aisling, and Elysia are already on. It's a tall rock, the highest on the island, and it always faces the incoming ship no matter what.

"Why are you running late, sister?" Delilah asked, and though her tone was innocent, the smirk on her face told the truth. Delilah was the oldest, second to Aisling and third to me, and it made her seem like the leader of all of us. Her taking charge was nice sometimes, but it wasn't very pleasant when she turned bossy.

"Is your heart not into it?" She repeated, cocking her head to the side like an innocent puppy.

"My heart," I said back, borderline snapping at the girl, "Is as into it as yours is, *Delilah*."

"Guys, look, the ship!" Elysia said, pointing to the fast approaching boat. It was big, and very much belonged to pirates. I couldn't tell if what Elysia said was due to pure childlike awe, or that she pointed it out to avoid us fighting.

Delilah huffed, and turned to start the song.

"Sisters of the ocean
Hear my plea
Call these young souls
Close to me."

Then we all tuned in, our voices melding together,

"Our beautiful forms
Are impossible to resist
Come closer,
Give death a kiss."

Just like magic, the boat veered left and went on a straight course to us, and it almost seemed like it sped up. We dived away from the large rock, and just in time, as the ship plowed straight into it, boards falling and sailors screaming as they leapt desperately off board, into the deadly water.

Most died instantly, pierced by either their shattering boat or the jagged rocks hugging the coast. The few that survived clawed their way up the beach, their eyes mad with lust, towards my sisters. They all killed them instantly, slashing them apart with their claws and sharp teeth.

I usually swim farther away from the scene, as I don't like the blood, nor do I like taking someone's life on my own. However, one sailor climbed the sandy hill towards me, and I felt my heart speed up. I *don't* like stealing someone's life. Still, they neared closer, their arms open towards me. From the corner of my eye I spotted Delilah, blood staining her skin. 'Kill him.' She mouthed, and I tensed up.

That's when the sailor's hat tumbled off, and long brown hair swam down their shoulders. My heart pounded in my chest, and a fluttery feeling rose up in my throat.

She wasn't a man. She was a *girl*.

And she's a beautiful girl.
