As a track athlete and runner, I eagerly joined in when I saw the organization Ekal was hosting a 5k at an old Western filming site in my community. Running through mountain trails and historic Hollywood sites, I stopped each kilometer to read the posters on the organization Ekal Vidyalaya's vision. I was immediately intrigued. Their mission to promote societal development in rural India through social events in my town was the ultimate connection of forming a community in my hometown while supporting my roots and heritage.
Preparing dance festivals and speaking at local chapter events, I quickly became involved in Ekal's Southern California chapter.
