I want to try Google Fi. I have been paying too much for my service and would like something cheaper and because I will travel overseas soon.
It doesnt say that I have a compatible phone but I know someone who uses Fi with a non compatible phone and it still works so is that common?

It is common but we can't guarantee anything with activation success or help with any troubleshooting issues with the non-compatible device.

Whats the cancellation policy and I heard that some users get their plans shut down overseas too. Tell me about both the cancellation and the cancellation for some users.

We don't have any cancellations fees or policies. You are welcome to cancel Google Fi at anytime you like due to no contracts with Fi.
As for oversea usage, if you are outside the US longer than 3 months you will risk getting a service suspension.

Really depends on the plan you choose. With the Flexible plan the data limit is 15GB and the Unlimited is 22GB. Once you've reach the limit mark then your data speeds will slow down.

We only have the cut off if you exceed your stay longer than 3 months outside the Us.
The only time your data is slowed down is when you've reach the data limit on the plan, inside and outside the US. Data is slowed to 256 kbps.

Basically it will renew, the only time to keep your service active is by coming back into the US.

The day you activate service will be your new billing date. You'll get your first billing 2-3 days after activation.
When you get your SIM card shipped out nothing will be charged or activated.

You can but you will be charged for the days that your service was active on.
Not for the full days, but if you were active for 10hrs, you'll be charged for the 10 hrs service was active.

We don't have any at this time! Since you do know someone with Google Fi you can ask for a referral link. You'll be eligible for $20 if you keep service active for a month.

How are the SIM cards shipped? Postal service?

They are shipped through FedEx. Standard shipping is free and expedite shipping comes at a cost and available in certain areas.
If you need a Fi SIM card faster, you can check your local BestBuy or Target to see if they sell the Fi SIM card.
It does come at a $10 cost but you'll get credit back within 7 days of activation.

If your number is eligible to transfer you will need to keep the carrier active. The day you activate service you'll enter the account number and PIN and the number transfer will begin.

Yes, we can't transfer numbers on an account that's not active. Once your number has been ported over then your previous account will close.

You would have to call them to see about reactivating so you can port out the number to a new carrier. You can always contact them to see what the process is.

It doesn't take that long! Normally it can be around 3-10 minutes, or sometimes quicker if there is no issues with the account information.
