21 Trans or non-gender conforming people have been killed in 2020, as of July 14.
0.6%, or 1.3 million people identified as transgender according to Williams Institute by 2016. From five years ago, the number had doubled. Probably due to acceptance and people coming out. Not my assumption, but the "researchers". It is logical.
In 2017, GLAAD statistics displayed that about 3% of the US population identified as trans across various age groups.

South Dakota: 0.34 percent
Iowa: 0.31 percent
North Dakota: 0.30 percent
