Central Staff, Senior Staff, Community Advisors, Health Advocates, my fellow Residents,

Being a Community Advisor on the UWO-Oshkosh Campus changed my college experience, for the better. Starting this journey as a 19 year old Sophomore, I didn't know what to expect from this role. I would soon find out being a Community Advisor exposed me to so many new and exciting challenges in life such as taking new risks by making life-long friends, building a community out of people that were once strangers, volunteering within the Oshkosh community, creating tons of campus programs, developing a residence life documentary, a fox valley technical college directory, competing with other organizations on campus in homecoming and winter carnival, maintaining student government, and those late nights of making decorations for inside the residence halls and late night conversations with all of those residents. This experience has truly been what you make of it.

You're all probably wondering why I'm talking about my experience in an impromptu video at this point, and it's a day I've dreaded for a long time. Being apart of this department for so long, it only felt right to share my experience with everyone. This is my public announcement of my resignation from the Community Advisor position at University of Wisconsin Oshkosh - Department of Residence Life. Effective December 19, 2020, this will be made official.

This is something I had to think about for months, even prior to starting my contract at UW Oshkosh for the 2020-21 academic year. I didn't think this would actually happen, but it's a career decision I have to make for myself. I want to take the time to thank several people for your contribution to making my experience great at UW Oshkosh within Residence Life: My prior and current staff teams, Abby Sylvia, Marc Nylen, Adam Hernandez, Liz Morrell, Ellie Lang, Lori Develice-Collins, Robert Babcock, Courtney Prest, McKayla Zellmer, Kriste Bohm, Jeremy Elleman, Christopher Wagner, John Barajas, and Mandy Briggs. Thank you all for having a significant impact on developing me as a professional over the past three and a half years.

I've always had a goal in mind of making sure the future is my #1 priority when it comes to our residents and staff members. My involvement will not stop with this department just because I am resigning. I'd request to stay involved at Mid-Year trainings and training sessions for staff members to come in the future.

Sincerely,
Nick Massoth
