Group-inidividuals that have regular contact, frequent interaction,mutual influence, common feeling of belongingness and work together
-differ in terms of what bind the individual's together
Social Group-groups interact with the basis of shared expectations concerning behavior and who share a common identity.

Primary-characterize long lasting intimate relationship(family, chldhod friends, relatives)
Secondary-common interest(Project Groupmates)
Reference-standard(a guide to behavior and attitude)

Kinship, Marriage, and the Household
Kinship-refers to relations formed between members of society
..Kinship by Blood-most basic and common relationship
-descents and lineage(biological relationship)
-Descents-Unilenial/Bilateral
-Unilineal (pagpapakilala sa pamilya pero sa pamamaraan na kung lalaki lang lalaki muna, kung babae lang, babae muna ang pagpapakilala)
-Patrilineal-lalaki lang
-Matrilineal-babae lang
(ex. genealogy present in the Bible)
-Bilateral Descent-magkasabay ang pagpapakilala ng pamilya ng nanay at tatay
Kinship by Marriage
-Different societies have different set of cultural practices,norms and rules pertaining to marriage
-Societal rekationship is formed by marriage
-Indugamy-Compulsary-Ang pagpapakasal ay hindi lumalabas sa community (ex:tribe to tribe/ family to family)
-Endogamy-society forbids marriage within family
-Monogamy-isa lang asawa
-Pologamy-maraming asawa
