The FDA approves steroids, helminthic therapy is not approved, and fecal transplants are Investigational New Drugs. IND research will "establish [whether or not] the product will not expose humans to unreasonable risks when used in limited, early-stage clinical studies" (FDA). Even though it is not FDA approved, I would consider helminthic therapy because "A 2017 review of three studies concluded the treatment is both safe and effective. A 2017 study tested how whipworm affected 252 people with Crohn's disease." The treatment has limited side effects, the most seyere being fatigue, skin rashes, and mild to severe gastrointestinal problems. For some reason, the FDA doesn't approve it, but treatment can be sought in Mexico. I would also consider fecal transplant because it was found that "61% of Crohn's patients achieved clinical remission from the therapy." I wouldn't onsider steroids due to their many long-term complications.
