At the begenning Jen talked about how Oatmeal and fruit are a mixture because they can be easily taken apart. Jen said how Whipped Cream is NOT a solution because it consists of air and cream, and can easily be taken apart. She also talked about how " all solutions are mixtures, but not all mixtures are solutions. " At the lab her friend Dr. McDaniel, uses a aspirator pump to filter charcoal out of water. Dr. McDaniel uses a stir bar to keep things from bubbling off. Jen and Dr. McDaniel used a method called distillation to separate solutions. At the farm with Mr. Burgy, he talked about how the famr workers use Centrifical Force to separate cream and skim milk. After thy make the ice cream mix, they have to pasturize the mix. Pasturize means you heat the mix up to kill all the bad germs. The mix has to be heated for 30 minutes at 160 degrees.
