Notes

I chose to write his biography is about my Grandfather. His name is Sion Wiseman and he is my mother's father.  My Grandfather was born in Casablanca, Morocco on the 5th of November 1950 and his parents were called Miriam and Shlomi. I starting by asking him about his family and siblings and he said that he is one of 9 children and he is the youngest. Next, I asked him where he grew up. He explained to me that he moved around quite a lot when he was young. When he was 9 years old there were problems for the Jewish people living in Morocco so my Grandfather and his family moved to Tzfat, Israel. He told me it was hard moving to a new country as a refugee. They had to leave everything they owned behind and when they arrived in Israel, they had nothing aside from their clothes. They had to start again and build a new life for themselves. My Grandfathers explained that his best memory was when he saw snow for the first time in Tzfat! Morocco is such a hot country he had never seen it before. I then asked what job he wanted when he was younger. My Grandfather wanted to be a waiter or work at a hotel because he enjoyed working with people. We talked about which school he went to. He told me that he went to primary school in Tel Aviv and then he went to secondary school in Tzfat. He did not go to university but he joined the army when he was 18 years old.  My Grandfathers biggest influences were his parents and eight older siblings. Sadly, his parents died very young while he was still in the army. He met my Grandma in Netanya, Israel. My Grandfather has two children Georgie (my mother) and Ollie (my uncle). He told me that he worked in a watch company as a company director, but he is now retired. My Grandfather loves D.I.Y and cooking.  The worst thing that happened to him was when he fought in the 1973 war, it was a very hard time and he has very sad memories. He doesn’t really like to talk about it too much. The best thing that happened to him was to be married and to have children and grandchildren. He would love to travel to places that he hasn't been before. My Grandfathers favourite thing is being on holiday with his wife, children and grandchildren.   I found my Grandfathers life so interesting. He had such a different childhood to mine. I found out lots of things I didn’t know before. He is very special!
