For maintaining momentum chapter ı prepared a word puzzle activity,
To create a sort of friendly vibe, ı put James' picture and wrote the instruction part as if he is saying it. To be able to clear, ı wrote concise instruction for students .

the word puzzle itself has 10 words in it and those words are taken from chapters 17 and 18. ı choose them because the students who are reading the book may not know them.

Also, all the words are high-frequency words, ranking between 400 and 2700, ı used the corpus of leeds university/college to find their ranking.

This word puzzle will make students use their minds actively, so learning the words will be easier.

To help students to find the words ı put the words below the puzzle, but as you can see they are not complete because ı want to make the puzzle a little more complicated. Also, ı did not want students to take the words and use them for the other activity right away.

to be able to be effective and not become only a game, word puzzle requires follow-up writing activity, so ı prepared fill in the blank activity by this way students have to use their word knowledge which they recently learned.
This activity is relatively easy, Students are familiar with the words since they saw it in a sentence, but if they don't know the meaning still, they can go and check the chapters for context, or use a dictionary as it is written in the instruction part.

Finally, After all this process, students will have learned 10 words that are among the most frequently used 2700 words in English. and use them in a meaningful sentence.



Actually I thought of giving reference for it but ı could not. Because there is no solid evidence that ı used it in the activity. That is why ı could not refer the website
