Stars are like all living things, they are born, go through its life cycle, then die.
Nebula-
- A nebula is a cloud of gas and dust that spread out in a immense volume.
-Gravity can pull some of the gas an dust in a nebula together.
Nebular theory-
-According to the nebular, the sun and planets form from a rotating disk of dust and gases.
Protostar-
-The cloud pulled together forms a protostar, which is the earliest stage of a stars life.
-A star is born when a nebula contracts dust and gas and becomes so dense and hot that nuclear fission starts.
The life span of a star-
-A star's mass determines how long it will live.
-A low-mass, main sequence star uses up its fuel slowly and eventually becomes a white dwarf.
Low mass star cycle-
-A low mass star like the sun takes billions of years to use up their nuclear fuel.
Red Giant-
-As they start to run out of fuel, their outer layer expands becoming a red giant.
Planetary nebula-
-Eventually, the outer parts grow larger and drift out into space, forming a glowing could of gas called a planetary nebula.
White dwarf-
-The blue-white core of the star left behind cools and becomes a white dwarf.
High-mass stars-
-High-mass stars quickly evolve into brilliant super giants.
Supergiant-
-When a supergiant runs put of fuel, it can explode suddenly into a supernova, the remains become either a neutron star or a black hole.
Neutron star-
-After supergiant explodes some of the materials left form a neutron star.
-Nuetron stars are the remains of high-mass stars.
Black hole-
-The gravity is so strong that nothing not even light can escape.
