1.) What is Big Data
- Big data are huge amounts of Data.
- Analytics can use Big Data to go through and gather information which can be used anywhere and for anything they desire
- If one company uses Big Data, the other must as well
- How to use big data to be turnt into information is very sought after and very profitable
- Symbols can visualize huge amounts of data making it easier for everyone to interpret
- Info is like the oil in the 21st century, while analytics are like the combustion engine
- Data can be accessed anywhere through footsteps
2.) Examples
- Shopping algorithms determine what to sell you
- Brick and Mortar stores send you emails based on what you have browsed or purchased lately as they keep track of what you bought
- Internet algorithms such as youtube and facebook determine what to show you on your feed (suggestions) that you might have watched lately or alot
- Yahoo used to be the same feed for everyone, until data played a role
- Internet of things: Products are now based more of internet activities
- Candles: Some areas where COVID was not as prevalent + Spicy foods (to test the taste)

- Smartphone: Barometer, Accelerometer, GPS
- Data could also be used in a bad way as well
- Data can be used and accessed and analyzed like we nothing thought could be possible before

- Data is only just numbers/records, which is where information comes into play
- How making Data -> Information is very valuable these days
- Data is not challenging anymore, it is how to turn it into information or how to use it
- Information helps others make decisions
- Databases: can be managed from almost anywhere and accessed anytime
- CIO = In charge of business IT systems

- For example: Phone notif to leave your home now to be on time for your meeting such as Google Maps or just notifications (traffic, data)
