Hello, Brinna Kelly, I want to express my gratitude to you for creating such a masterpiece as "The fare". I apologize in advance for my bad English, because I am from Russia)
When I see in YouTube movie trailer, I immediately liked the idea of "Groundhog day" in the story. In the Russian localization, the film was released under the title "somewhere in time", what they were not satisfied with the original translation - I don't know, but it turns out that in comparison with them, my English is not so bad)
The plot keeps the intrigue until the end of the film. I had several versions, the closest one: the hero is Charon and he is trying to transfer a dying girl to the afterlife. But the girl has not died yet, so she can't get to the end of the trip (for example, doctors are trying to start her heart through shock therapy - hence the storm in the sky in moovie). But Your story was not so banal, and so majestically beautiful.
After watching this film, there was a strong "aftertaste". The moment when the movie doesn't let you go, and your thoughts keep coming back to it. The film is really good - from acting to plot.
But it is the impressions that it leaves after viewing that make it deep and touching to the soul. Words cannot convey the range of emotions that remain with you for a long time after viewing (it is what prompted to write You this letter). As a result I had enough for 2 days and I again reviewed the film). That is very surprising to me. I almost never watch movies twice (with rare exceptions, I can review some classics once every few years), but here 2 days and I'm back at the screen! I wanted to be a part of this sad story again... And the second time I had no less fun than the first. I wanted to enjoy the dialogues, knowing the General plot. And also fill in some gaps (for some reason, the first viewing left a 50/50 feeling that the hero was really in a time trap). When you first view the movie, it is perceived from the face of the main character; when you view it again, it looks more from the face of Your heroine. The essence of the relationship between the characters is revealed more deeply. So in the scene when Persephone asks Garis to tell his girlfriend if he met her again (at the second viewing of the film) I let out a "stingy man's tear". At the end of the film, there is no obvious open happy ending - and this is sad and beautiful in its own way (when re-viewing I found for myself the happy ending of the story in the words of the main character that as long as he remembers, he has hope - it means once... perhaps...).
Summing up all of the above, I want to repeat - You have created a masterpiece! I considered it my duty to tell You about it. Because many things in this world are temporary, but art is eternal. And Yours left a mark forever ...
