Notes - notes.io

An elf priest of Naralis who wields a sword. Unknown to the other PCs, at first, the sword has a soul in it. A soul of a human. The sword used to have the soul of both the elf and the human, in someone's misguided reasoning that a sword with a soul in it would be twice as powerful with two souls, and making the sword's energy unstable. The elf's soul is amnesiac, unable to remember anything before being stuffed into a sword, while the human soul (boisterous, loud, proud, and cunning, as well as a jokester who loves to tease, once had a heart and hair of gold) remembers his past memories. (A story about an older sibling and a younger sibling. The older sibling looked all over for a cure for the sick younger sibling but couldn't find any, reduced to only able to hold the younger sibling's hand in the last moments. The human doesn't say who is who. When adopting the backstory as his own, the elf priest pretends to be the elder sibling, invoking Naralis in vain at the final moments in hope that he will pass over the younger sibling, and then dedicating himself to the god's service in order to understand [the god]'s reasoning better). The two stayed inside the sword, unable to see what is going on outside, until they felt the presence of a dead elf body gripping tightly to the sword. Newly deceased, not even a minute dead. After a bit of coaxing from the human soul, ("I've already experienced a body, you go!") the elf soul inhabits the body.
(A true reason of following the god: both souls follow the god, if only to gain recognition that their souls shouldn't still be in the mortal plain.)
The elf is cold and aloof, and while not talkative, he isn't taciturn. He scoffs at others as though they're beneath him, though he's embarrassed about his own lack of knowledge about the world, stumbling around like a newborn. He is disinterested about many things, passing over great and beautiful knowledge with barely a glance. However, he shares his smiles freely with his sword, a deep laughter and curl of his lips as he converses in secret.
While he can speak Elvish, he greatly prefers Common, and when speaking the elf's tongue, his words are unusually blunt and tactless, without any of the poetic flow. (It's the same as a harsh dialect of Chinese, emphasis on the hard consonants that are supposed to wash over the tongue like running water)
