The first amendment- The first amendment states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. "The freedom of speech part came within because they did not want the government to brush off peoples concerns and opinions with what they wanted to share with the government. The freedom of the press part is allowing people to share their opinions about the government on tv, podcasts, radio stations, newspapers and more. But also it keeps people from being able to posts lies about others on those platforms or through speech. It protects copyright as well to keep others from stealing someone's work or thoughts and processes. The next one that is talked about is "the right to peacefully assemble" which is my favorite. It allows citizens to hold protests to ask the government for changes with out being arrested or harmed. In some cases if protesters get violent then their has to be procedures to handle that but the government is not allowed to stop them if it is not harmful. This is my favorite because I feel like this is strongly present in the world today. The government states that everyone has equality but that is not true. Black people are being singled out and treated as below others or below white people because of the fact that they have darker skin colors which is not right. There are a lot of protests and rallies going on to fight for black lives to be treated equally as every one else or more specifically white people. But there has been times where police officers have harmed black people for example " George Floyd" when they would not have done that to a white man. He was already down they had no need to kill him by pinning him down like that if he already had handcuffs and he was searched. Another key part which relates to the fourth amendment is the Breonna Taylor case where police officer came into her home and shot her when she was unarmed and harmless. They came in for someone else and looking for drugs and money, went into her house which was the wrong one and when she and her boyfriend were confused and scared ringing of one bullet thinking it was a robber the police officer shot back 6 times and another officer shot ten. They had no right to be in her house without a warrant which is why the fourth amendment is important and the first amendment is also important to inform people about her case and the many other cases like this.
