The water cycle consists of precipitation, infiltration, throughflow, percolation, transpiration, surface run-off, evaporation, and condensation. The water cycle maintain the balance of the earth's ecosystems and provides fresh and clean water for all organisms. Precipitation is when clouds produce rain snow hail...(etc.) Infiltration is when after it rain the ground soaks the water and gets into the cracks of rocks. Through flow is when the water travels to a river lake or maybe even the ocean. Percolation describes how the water moves under ground...Example: straight down left diagonal (etc.) Transpiration is when plants suck up water through their roots and let it travel to its leaves and let it evaporate. A surface run-off is when water travels along the surface of the earth. Evaporation is when water turns into vapor the forms a cloud which is condensation. Condensation is when the water vapor turns into a cloud which then causes precipitation.
