My grandfather is an interesting man. He is eighty-two years old, and he was born in an interesting time. My grandfather grew up learning about communism. He was a Russian millitary leader in the cold war. Top of the class. So, as you imagine it is very interesting talking to him, especially because I'm American. He is a very grumpy old man. He acts like a drill sergeant. Yet, if you can get him to calm down, then he becomes a really fun guy. He speaks very little English, but he tries to do it as well as he can. I speak Russian so it's okay. He loves winter... A little bit to much.
Now, my grandfather was in a horrific accident when they were testing landmines. It went off, killing his best friend. The mine blew his arm off, and severely damaged his leg. So, he has a prostetic leg, and no arm. I have always seen him like that, so it doesn't bother me. He has white hair, and a very pale face. Brown eyes, and he always has a mean look on his face. Interesting guy...
I spent all my time with my grandfather, I believe that it may be the last I see him. Luckily, I got to see him when he is having the most fun. We went ice fishing, hunting, and we went to a lot of resturaunts. We spent a lot of time together. My favorite thing though was what we did on Christmas. My family of course did the normal Christmas, but my Grandfather gave me a lot of important items of his. He gave me his World War II rifle. His Soviet Uniform, and a bunch of stuff. It may sound like a weird gift, but I loved it. It was one of the best things I have ever gotten.
I'm glad that I got to spend Christmas with my grandfather.
