Fakespot according to its website, is an application that aims to identify false reviews on eCommerce websites. Fakespot also ranks Amazon as the most popular eCommerce site. Fakespot was eventually shut down because of this. Amazon attempted to remove Fakespot from the Apple App Store. Amazon prevailed in its battle against Fakespot, and was eventually able to remove them from the App Store.
Fakespot was kicked out of the site because Amazon claimed that it was displaying the Amazon website on their application without authorization. Fakespot was not allowed to display the Amazon website using a wrapper. Amazon also doesn't want Fakespot doing whatever they want. apple id is fairness as well as the procedure.
According to the founder of Fakespot Saoud Khalifa, they were not informed by Apple about the issues that Amazon lodged nor were they told that their application will be removed soon. This was quickly shut down by Apple because they actually published an official statement about the details of the dispute on June 8. Apple immediately addressed this issue by connecting both Apple and Fakespot. Apple also informed Fakespot about their issues and what they had to do to prevent being removed. Apple reached out once again to Fakespot on June 29 to once again let Fakespot about its violations. This was two weeks before Fakespot was finally removed on the App Store. Thereafter, Khalifa corrected his statement by confirming that Apple did in fact reach out to them.
Fakespot has infected a malicious code on Amazon's website, which may lead to hackers. Fakespot did not comply with Apple's 5.2.2. rule, which requires the use of a third-party permit in order to access websites. Honestly, from apple support of view, Apple's decision is pretty fair and square. While some might think it's a blatant display or attempt to stop people from trying regulate Fakespot's website, it is really quite grounded.
There are two perspectives to the story. Many people believe that Amazon is being naive in preventing access from third-party websites due to the possibility that hackers could gain access to their personal information. For some users, Fakespot is not actually the scam saving app it makes itself out to be because of its imperfect and aggressive system.
