There are just a few goldfish diseases that owners should be conscious of, but an infected fish can rapidly change from bad to worse. Ichtyopthirius (Ich)
Cause: This is a freshwater fish disease that is brought on by flesh-eating parasites that can take in the fish until it dies (normally as a result of infection from open wounds).
Cure: You'll need to treat the tank with Ich medicine and quarantine one of the most badly affected fish. The process can take approximately 72 hours to finish and Ich is one of the most deadly of goldfish diseases, while being the hardest for stopping too.
Tail Rot
Cause: There are many causes and tail rot is somewhat hard to diagnose. It may be brought on by bacterial or parasitic infection, poor water quality, oxygen starvation, or due to overcrowding inside the tank. In many cases fish will bite one another and their fins can become infected.
Cure: Antibiotics, sodium, or another treatments for tail/fin rot ought to be used. Medication will only prevent the issue temporarily though, because you need to find the cause of the initial problem I.e., overcrowding, stress, low oxygen levels, etc.
Dropsy
Cause: This is one of the most deadly goldfish diseases even though there exists medications for it, quite often the fish will usually die once symptoms are visible. This problem can also be cause by a bacterial or parasitic infection, but starts from the inside with the fish and causes their belly to severely bloat outward.
Cure: You can buy medications to cure dropsy, but whatever you decide and do, separate them in the most your fish if you have any. a fantastic read is to keep the aquarium clean and bacteria free.
