Odds of Getting Heads or Tails in a Football Game
Heads or tails, what's the difference, you ask? Quite simple really, if you think about it for a moment. The coin itself is tossed (by hand, normally) and the outcome is determined by how the coin landed there in the first place. Heads or tails is an instance in which the coin landed on heads due to some physical or psychological factors, and the coin owner must then decide which way the coin landed.

Heads or tails is the playing of a coin toss, in which the coin toss is used as an element of hand play, often with the intention of determining a winner between two contenders, and sometimes used simply to resolve an argument between two individuals. When a coin toss occurs, each person (a head or a tail) holds one hand above the other in such a way that the fingers of the left hand are over the right ones of the right hand, forming an "X" shape. In a coin toss, if the coin lands on heads, the person with the high hand wins; if the coin lands on tails, the person with the low hand wins.

In most cases, the person who flipped the coin is considered to be the winner. Of course, this is not always so. What determines the winner is the flip of the coin, and the reasoning behind the flip. For instance, if a coin is tossed ten times in a row and lands on heads, it will count as one out in ten for that player. On the other hand, if it is tossed twice in a row and lands on tails, the count is a different story.


To determine the winner in these cases, you need to look at each of the individual flips. Take, for example, the case where a coin is tossed four times and lands on heads. In this case, you have two possibilities: either the winner was either the person with the high hand or the person with the low hand. Therefore, there are four different ways this can be determined.

The frequency of these events that leave heads or tails as a probability is actually very random. Heads or tails has no true meaning, and the probability of these occurring has absolutely nothing to do with whether a person is a winner or loser. When looking at these probabilities, you are looking at the odds of the dice throwing these random bits. This doesn't mean the actual frequency of getting heads or tails has any relevance whatsoever to being a winner or loser. That is why it is called random, and we don't have the resources to analyze the math involved.
