식약처 관계자는 다소비 수입 식품으로 가열공정이 없어 엄격한 관리가 필요한 수입 배추김치 를 해썹 의무 적용 품목으로 정해 국민들을 안심시키고자 한다며 앞으로도 해외제조업소 위생관리를 철저히 하여 수입식품에 대한 국민 우려를 완전히 해소할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다고 말했다.


최근 중국에서 비위생적으로 절임배추를 만드는 영상이 공개되며 손님들의 ‘중국산 김치’ 기피 현상이 두드러지자 국산으로 속여 판 식당들이 대거 적발됐다.

국립농산물품질관리원은 최근 일주일 동안 전국 3000여 곳의 음식점을 대상으로 긴급 단속을 벌인 결과 130곳이 김치 원산지를 허위로 표시해 적발됐다고 12일 밝혔다.

관리원에 따르면 중국산 배추김치를 사용하면서 ‘배추 국내산, 고춧가루 중국산’으로 표기해 적발된 곳이 가장 많았다. 반찬용뿐 아니라 김치볶음밥, 김치찌개, 김치만두 등을 조리해 판매하는 식당 중 중국산 김치를 이용하면서 원산지를 ‘국산’으로 표기한 곳도 다수였다.
