A New Stand-Up DVD is Just a Click Away
There are some stand-up comedy DVD releases that have been crowding the stores for months now. The new stand-up dvds are getting their reviews out there much faster than any new releases from last year. People are still looking forward to seeing the new movies from theaters, but have given up hope of ever seeing them in their homes. Why? Because they have been burned with poor marketing and failed movies from Disney and other studios.

It all started with a new release from Channel 4. The new comedy group "We Are Marshall" made a name for themselves on the national comedy circuit. The funny clips on their channel 4 show were getting famous fast. But after a couple months the channel 4 network finally announced the channel was canceling the show permanently.

Soon after that, "We Are Marshall" was canceled as well. Then "The Big Bang Theory" star Jason Chakrabart became the next comedy dvd star. He is now in the hot seat hosting his own talk show "Chakrabart Times" on satellite TV. The good news for fans of these new comedy dvds is that most of them are available at your local video store or on Amazon. You can find the new stand-up days in any decent video store in your area.


Some of the more recent British comedy DVDs available include "Chakrabart Times" starring Jason Chakrabart and featuring a track by English rock mandible, Blur. The movie "British comedy classic," "A Fish called Wanda" stars Dawn French and features a classic sketch by John Lloyd Webber. There are many more good British comedies from recent years including "The Night Manager," "The Fantastic Mr. Fox" starring Domhnall Gleeks, "The Informant" starring Matt Damon and many other great movies. If you want to see the latest release of "The Informant" starring Matt Damon and directed by Steven Soderbergh, it will be available on May 18th. Hopefully more British comedy flicks will be added to the "Chakrabart Times" cast list.

In the meantime, there is quite a bit of channel 4 content available for your browsing pleasure. The network has a very popular daily show, "The Daily Show," which is still one of the best shows on cable television. The Jon Stewart Show is also available on channels 4 and often includes segments with celebrity guests. The Chris Rock special "The Late Show With Chris Rock" is a highly entertaining late night talk show and always provides a decent laugh.

Another great comedy special that can be found on the comedy network is "You Can't Go Wrong with Russell Brand: Any Stand Up Show." This DVD is a collection of his various stand-up acts and interviews from the early days of his career. It includes some of his better known comedy routines like his impressions of President Bush and a roast for the dearly departed Richard Nixon. The late Ronald Reagan's aide, ermine Rothman is also featured in the DVD along with Brand's friend, Billy Ray Cyrus.

Finally, there are a number of British comedy artists who have created their own stand-up DVDs. Two of these acts are the Step Brothers and The Royal Family. Directed by Guy Ritchie, the special was a huge success and is continually showing in various movie outlets around the world.
