(ch.10) Uncle Henrik goes to the boat and everyone else sat quietly in the house. suddenly the Nazis show up and one of them says why are so many people here? and why is the casket closed?Mama says: we are having a funeral for Aunt Birte and she died of typhus so the casket is closed. The man gets angry and slaps Mama on the check; then the solders leave. Peter reads a Psalm from the Bible and then he opens the casket.

(ch.11) Inside they see clothes and blankets which the jewish people need for warmth on the boat. Peter gave sleeping medicine to the baby and gave a packet to Mr. Rosen. Then he told everyone the direction for getting to the boat and said Annemarie goodbye and don't grow anymore. Annemarie realized that Uncle Henrik was going to take the jews to Sweden in his boat.
(ch.12-13) 1.Mama took the Rosens took the boat. 2.Annemarie stays at the house and sleeps. she wakes up and Mama is not back on time. 3 Annemarie sees Mama lying on the ground. She has broke her ankle. 4 They find the package Mr Rosen dropped Mama tells Annemarie to hide it in the basket and run it to Henrik.
