코로나19 확산 영향으로 여느 흔한 드라이브스루 행사장처럼 발길이 뜸 할 줄 알았던 예상과 달리 진안군 부귀면 마이산김치공장에서 개최됐음에도 하루 종일 꾸준하게 방문 차량이 있을 정도로 호응이 좋았다.

오는 10월 1일부터 수입 배추김치 위생 관리가 엄격해진다. 배추김치 수입 규모에 따라 단계적으로 '해썹(식품안전관리인증기준, HACCP)' 제도를 의무 적용할 예정이다.

식품의약품안전처는 오는 10월 1일부터 수입 배추김치에 해썹 인증을 의무 적용하는 방안을 추진한다.



현재 국내에서 생산·제조되는 김치는 해썹을 의무적으로 획득해야 하나, 수입 김치는 별다른 제약이 없다. 이 때문에 수입 김치의 품질을 우려하는 목소리가 컸고, 국내 제품과 역차별 문제도 불거졌다. 최근엔 중국 한 남성이 알몸으로 김치용 배추를 절이는 모습이 담긴 영상이 공개돼 수입 김치에 대한 거부감이 확산되기도 했다.


농협하나로유통은 21일까지 전국 하나로마트 매장과 온라인 쇼핑몰 ‘농협몰’에서 절임배추와 김치류 할인판매에 나선다(사진).

김병수 농협하나로유통 대표는 “국내산 원재료로 김치를 손쉽게 준비할 수 있도록 이번 행사를 마련했다”고 전했다.

김 책임연구원은 “5종의 효모들의 전체 유전자에서 독성을 띠는 물질을 만드는 유전자는 확인되지 않았다”며 “골마지가 생긴 김치가 건강에 큰 문제는 없지만 추가 동물 실험이 필요하다고 말했다.



연구진은 골마지를 예방하기 위해선 김치를 포장할 때 모든 부분을 국물에 잠기게 하거나 산소와 접촉면이 생기지 않도록 비닐로 감싸야 한다고 설명했다. 또 약 4도의 저온이 유지되도록 냉장고를 관리해야 한다고 덧붙였다. 김 책임연구원은 “혹시 모를 위험을 피하려면 골마지가 생긴 김치는 그 부분을 걷어낸 다음, 볶거나 끓여먹는 방식으로 김치를 조리해 먹는 것이 안전하다고 덧붙였다.
