CHAPTER ONE

I've lived around the mountains for a while, eating the remains of those humans who were killed by demons, I keep hearing of this guy, named Urokodaki.

Apparently he trains kids to become demons slayers, you know, people who kill demons, he sends his apprentices to the top of the mountain, then they have to climb down.

I live in the same mountain as that guy, every kid he's trained has come to face with me at some point, but they never attacked me, rather they're too nice, or too scared.

I've seen Urokodaki train the same kid for a while now, only when it's dark out though, usually I hide wherever I can, as long as the sun doesn't touch me I'll be fine.

I've seen them train for a while now, though after the kid started training to slice the boulder, he's been talking to someone, I can never tell who it is, I never see anyone besides him.

He trained for months, until one day he did it, he sliced the boulder.

"I'm surprised you actually did it," I walked up behind him, he turned around pointing his sword at me in defense, "Who are you?"

I remembered one thing, every time this kid went down the mountain he'd have one way to avoid traps, his keen sense of smell, he'd probably figure out I'm a demon.

I looked at him for a second, then it hit me.

Tanjiro.

This kid wasn't just any kid, it was Tanjiro.

But why would Tanjiro train to be a demon slayer? What would he say if I told him I was a demon? Should I lie about my name? Would he even remember me? He has to, right?

"Just a person, you're Urokodaki's apprentice right?" He kept the sword up, "Yeah... and you're... a demon.."

I put my hands up, "You caught me! I'm not a human! I mean, I would've expected you to find out anyways."

"Then why are you even talking to me, you know I'm Urokodaki's apprentice.."

I shrugged, "I'm not even a threat to Urokodaki or any of his apprentices, they all knew me,"

"But you're a demon-"

"So is your sister," I heard him talking about it with Urokodaki, but never really found out who it was, was it Hanako? Or Nezuko? He did say 'sister' so it had to be one of them.

"How do you-"

"I live here, of course I heard you talking about it," I sighed, "You really don't... remember... do you?" He seemed confused at the question.

"Never mind, good luck, on final selection I mean..."
