Heads Or Tails? NFL Week 3
In case historical precedent is anything to goes by, there's as good a likelihood that the Seattle Seahawks will be calling Heads or Tails as opposed to getting their coin flip call back. There are a couple of different reasons why the coin flip has evolved over the years. One reason being, the teams actually do call them differently. Now one could argue that having two different names for the same coin is sort of silly, but we'll leave that up to the professionals.

The other reason the teams seem to call them different is because they actually have two completely different meanings. The term Heads or Tails has historically referred to a football team's most valuable coin. In fact, that's what they were called long before coin flips came about. The teams would wear these coins around their necks on game days, so their opponents would know which one they had in hand.

The problem with this old coin toss tradition is that the person getting the coin flip usually didn't have any idea what the team actually had on their coin toss. They just flipped the coin and hoped for luck. Now I don't know about you, but I find this an awful lot of trouble to go through when flipping coins. หัวก้อย However, people do still use the heads or tails terminology when gambling at sports games.

So that brings me to my second point, which is that the NFL has implemented a very unique and fun system where the caller doesn't always win the coin toss, but the person who calls the toss also doesn't always win. What does this mean for the person doing the calling? Well, it means that they get to pick the coin up and if it lands on heads, they win. If it lands on tails they lose. This is a great innovation that helps make the game a little bit more unpredictable and fun.

Now there are some games that don't really have much of a competitive element to them. Like baseball, for example. หัวก้อย In those games, the players don't really care who gets the winning coin because they don't play in the minors. The janus and the heads are just on display for everyone to see. That's why I think it's a big step in the right direction for the NFL to add a little more variety into the game. No one really wants to sit there and watch the same two guys flip coins, so why not give them a little competition.

One great way to add this competition is by doing something called the coin flip defense. The idea is simple. Two people are laid out face to face, with one laying on the floor. Each person then flips a coin over their heads, trying to get it as close to their head as possible without letting it touch the ground. The last person standing is the winner.
