I know I'm not human, but why can't I be treated as an equal? People always try to hurt me, while they're hunting me, or they have a reason, some want to sell me, kill me, use me, anything.
Humans are terrible creatures.
'Why do you say that?' You may be thinking, well I'm behind bars right now. Yeah, that's right, a cage, and the key? It was in someone else's hands.
Worst part? I'm not the first animal to be here, there's others, other foxes, some cats and dogs, different breeds, even wolves.
"Psst... hey... Nemi..." I heard a whisper that woke me up, "Ash? What is it?..." I saw him hold up the key.
Ash was my best friend here, he and I arrived here at the same time, and we talked often, cheering each other up in this horrible place.
He threw the key over to me, I smiled at him, I stuck my hand out of the cage and opened it from outside.
"If anything, their fault, who makes the bars so wide if you're kidnapping animals?"
I talked a bit loudly, but didn't pay attention, all animals were deep sleepers. I walked over to Ash's cage.
"Thank you.." I whispered, but before I freed him, I heard a door open, I turned to see a large man looking down at me and Ash.
"You escaped?!"
"NEMI RUN!"
I took Ash's advice, making a run for it, I slipped behind the man and ran out, taking the key with me, now what? I left Ash...
Will he ever get out? Why did I do that? I was so close!
I have to go back someday..
