Georgia was established by a man named James Oglethorpe as a trustee colony to Britain. Trustee Georgia followed the Charter of 1732, the people that established Georgia were known as the Trustees. The charter gave a lot of benefits to Britain. Also, it stated that no profit was made by the trustees, making their motto based off of helping others (Non Sibi Sed Aliis). It gave more land to the colony. Slaves were not allowed in Georgia at the time so indentured servants were a greatly needed. The servants worked for people as payment in exchange for a way to colony and support. This caused people to be very conservative, which was everything they could if possible. Unlike many of the other colonies in America, Georgia struggled to become successful. Once trustee Georgia ended, Royal Georgia became the new Georgia. This changed the government of the Georgia such as adding governors which controlled actions of the colony. They did whatever the King told them to do. Georgia had 3 governors named John Reynolds, Henry Ellis, and James Wright. Each of these governors had different views for georgia, which caused them to have different outcomes and supporters. They eventually allowed the colony to have slaves, which made production in Georgia go through the roof, making Georgia more successful. Royal Georgia had many improvements to everything such as education, religion, and cities.
